The dYdX Chain has Launched

Our recent blog post, ‘dYdX Chain Genesis’, discussed the importance of three pivotal phases: Pre-Genesis, Genesis, and Post-Genesis. This blog post aims to provide a comprehensive guide to one of the Post-Genesis phases: Alpha-Network gains security. 

Alpha Stage

In the Alpha phase, a critical emphasis is placed on bolstering the network's stability and security. A significant facet of achieving this stability lies in the amount of DYDX tokens staked to the Validators of the dYdX Chain. It's envisaged that a substantial commitment of DYDX tokens needs to be staked to dYdX Chain validators to ensure robust security infrastructure before transitioning to the Beta stage (pending governance). DYDX token holders may consider prioritizing staking their DYDX tokens to Validators. This concerted staking approach is paramount to fortifying the network's resilience, ensuring a smooth transition from the Alpha to Beta phase.

The bridging process is pivotal to this stage and is designed to ensure a seamless asset transition from ethDYDX to DYDX on the dYdX Chain. Notably, the public bridge front end available at bridge.dydx.trade.

During the Alpha phase, it should be emphasized that the markets will operate in a 'Post-Only' mode, precluding any trading activities. The Beta phase, however, will witness the dYdX Operations subDAO rendering both the front-end and indexer operational.
